From the hedgerow
We started in 2008 with one oven, a borrowed table, and a garden that kept giving us more herbs than we could cook with. The garden still decides the menu: when the rosemary is strong, the focaccia is strong.
Mabel's note: best warm, with butter.
Notes from the counter
Short notes, left on the counter or told over it. All invented, all true to the feeling.
"I plan my Saturday walk around the honey cake. If it is gone, I walk home slower."
— June, Hedgerow Lane"The sourdough lasts the week in our house. It never actually lasts the week."
— Tom, Mill Cottages"It smells like my grandmother's kitchen, and I mean that as the highest praise."
