How the books are made
Each illustration starts as flat shapes cut by hand from coloured paper — no gradients, no filters, no shortcuts.
Shapes stack three to five deep. Every layer casts a small hard shadow, so the scene gains real depth.
One sentence per spread, written to be read aloud. If a page cannot be told in one breath, it is cut.
From the reading rug
“My daughter asked for the fox story four nights in a row. The paper moon glows even when the lamp is off.”
— Maya R., parent of two“The pages feel like a craft table exploded in the best way. My class now cuts their own story scenes.”
— Daniel K., Year 2 teacher“Finally, a picture book that looks handmade without feeling homemade. The shelf looks like art.”
— Priya S., librarianYes. Each scene is cut from coloured paper, photographed, and printed. The website scenes are drawn in the same flat, layered style so the whole shelf feels of a piece.
Every cover carries an age badge: 3–5 for read-aloud stories, 6–8 for early readers, and Bedtime for wind-down tales. Filter the shelf above to match your reader.
